iLibs frequently asked questions

  • Please make sure to read the following lines before starting using iLibs.
When removing a song from a library, iTunes will first ask whether you wish to delete it and then whether you wish to move the selected songs to the Recycle Bin. If you do so, the actual file will be deleted from your computer. Therefore, neither you nor the other users will be able to use it anymore for any library. So, if you intend to remove a song from one library but wish it to be still available to other users or to yourself for your other libraries, make sure to click Keep Files when prompted by iTunes.
  • What is iLibs' function?
iLibs allows you to manage multiple iTunes libraries easily. You can, for example, create a Jazz library plus a Rock library and synchronize your iPod with one of them according to your mood. If you have several iPods but only one computer in the household, iLibs lets you manage each person's libraries without messing up those of the others. iLibs features multiple user, multiple libraries and multiple iPods support with a dummy-proof interface!
  • What iLibs doesn't do?
iLibs won't backup your iPod songs (CopyTrans does). iLibs only manages your iTunes Library settings.
  • iLibs does not open.
You might have checked the "Send to tray on startup" option in iLibs "Settings" tab, which causes the program to open in a minimized way (in the tray/notification area).
Check in the lower-right corner of your display and you should see the iLibs icon.
  • I can't open iLibs anymore.
Check the tray/notification area in the bottom-right corner of your computer display.
The iLibs icon should show up there.
Indeed, iLibs' default behavior on close is to minimize to tray.
