First of all, make absolutely sure you download and install the latest CopyTrans version as well as the latest iTunes version.

Adjust iTunes settings for successful backup into iTunes

• Before you adjust the iTunes settings please eject your iPod and close CopyTrans.
• Open iTunes.
• In the Edit menu, select "Preferences".
• In the window that opens go to the "Advanced" tab.
• Uncheck the options "Keep iTunes Music folder organized" and "Copy files to iTunes Music folder when adding to library" as shown on the screenshot below.

   

  
• Close iTunes, open CopyTrans and connect your iPod.

Sometimes, it happens that CopyTrans fails to detect the iTunes settings and opens up a message like the following.

In this case, and only if you have correctly adjusted the iTunes settings, you can click on the "Ignore" button.

That's it, you are all set! Your songs, playlists and other precious data can now be imported to iTunes!

If it still doesn't work, download and run our small tool. Then, uncheck the "Keep iTunes Music folder organized" and "Copy files to iTunes Music folder when adding to library" options and click the "Set" button.
